About me
My name is Jennie Velez. I grew up on a small town located in the north coast of Honduras and I moved to the US about 16 years ago. My journey within the dental field began in Honduras. I attended dental school at the Universidad Autonoma de Honduras where I received my degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery. In the US, I worked as a dental asssitant for 13+ years. Currently, I am a senior student at Fones School of Dental Hygiene located at the University of Bridgeport. I will be receiving my Associate of Science in Dental Hygiene degree in May of 2019 and my bachelor’s degree in December. I am passionate about patient care, dentistry, and prevention; which eventually led me to choose dental hygiene as a career.
I chose to intern at the Stamford public schools. I am excited to have the opportunity to work with the pediatric population again. I enjoyed both the Pediatric Oral Health and Tisdale rotations, during the second year at Fones. Therefore, this intership will be a great opportunity to continue learning and exploring different working settings.
